We have been working on our Science Essentials Unit for the last month. We began the unit by looking at observations and inference, exploring how they are different but connected. We then explored the science inquiry process. Determining what makes for a good science question. Students have been working on using a science process to answer the science question. They begin with using observations and their back ground knowledge to make a hypothesis about what will happen. They plan a investigation writing down the steps they will follow and creating a data table to record the data from their experiment. Next we work on analyzing the data they collect creating graphs, which they use to make a conclusion that answers their original science question.
