- Basic fact patterns
- 36 ÷ 6 = 6
- 360 ÷ 6 = 60
- 3600 ÷ 6 = 600
- 36 ÷ 6 = 6
- Estimating quotients using compatible numbers, so if we want to estimate 652 ÷ 8 = ? , I can estimate because I know that 640 ÷ 8 = 80, so I know my answer is around 80. (This is why it is so important to know your math facts it makes this easy to do.)
- Looking at remainders and knowing what they mean. For example if Sally is putting pictures into a book and has 27 pictures and puts six on each page.
- 27 ÷ 6 = 4 R3
- This means Sally need 5 pages in her book, and the last page will only have 3 pictures.
We are beginning our first division unit. There will be a quiz each Friday. These quizzes are a great resource when studying for the unit test. This Friday's quiz will not have any long division, that's next week. This weeks quiz will include:
