We are getting back into the swing of math. We will again be having a weekly quiz each Friday. This week's quiz will be two 4 digit time 1 digit multiplication problems. Students can do the problem using any method they choose. We examined 4 methods in class and students can use their notebook to review steps. Students will then check each problem with estimation to decide if it is reasonable. We did similar work in class today and the paper was returned to students.
The Unit 3 Math test will be Monday, November 25th. This test will focus on multiplication with a single digit factor and a multi-digit factor. Students need to be able to use multiplication to solve multi-step word problems. We have continued to discuss how to prepare for the test. Suggestions are listed below:
Welcome Back! It is great to be back in the classroom with excited students. The 4th grade team is working hard to get things back on track. We missed the Luchadora field trip, and are not able to get tickets for this production. DePaul will be rescheduling us for a later production of A Wrinkle in Time. We will be using the money we collected for Luchadora field trip to pay for this later field trip. We have a field trip this coming Wednesday (11/6) for a guided tour of the Biennial exhibit. The field trip permission slip is attached. If your child does not bring it home please print it and send it in on Monday. There is no charge for this field trip as the Chicago Architectural Center is funding our bus. I need three volunteers for this field trip, but can take more. Let me know if you have clearance and would like to volunteer for this field trip. We will be making the wands later this Month and will send out details next week.
